Dropbox integration
Last updated: August 13, 2026
What the integration does
COORDINATOR is a coordination workspace with an AI layer that reads across the systems you connect. Connecting Dropbox lets you pull files from your Dropbox into a conversation, so COORDINATOR can work from the actual document rather than a summary of it.
Once connected, COORDINATOR can:
- Let you browse and search your Dropbox from the paperclip menu in chat.
- Import a file you pick into the conversation as an attachment.
The integration is read-only
We request read-only permission from Dropbox — enough to list your files and read the ones you choose, and nothing more. COORDINATOR cannot create, edit, move, rename, or delete anything in your Dropbox, and it has no way to upload to it. There is no export-to-Dropbox feature.
What data we receive
File and folder names and metadata so you can browse and search, the contents of files you explicitly import, and your basic account information so the card can show which Dropbox is connected. We do not receive your Dropbox password.
Unlike our Google Drive integration — which is limited to individual files you hand over through Google's picker — Dropbox's permission model means the file browser can list your account's contents so you can find what you want. We only ever read the contents of a file you actually pick. Browsing shows names; importing reads data.
Dropbox data is used to provide the features above, for you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with other COORDINATOR users, and we do not use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full terms.
Connecting is opt-in
Nothing is connected by default, and COORDINATOR receives no Dropbox data until you explicitly authorize it. You opt in when you want it, you can opt out at any time, and you can reconnect later without penalty.
There's no limit on app connections. Connecting Dropbox doesn't count against anything on your plan.
How to connect
- Sign in to COORDINATOR.
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Find Dropbox under Apps & data sources and select Connect.
- You'll be sent to Dropbox to sign in and review what's being requested.
- Dropbox returns you to COORDINATOR and the card shows as connected, with the linked account underneath.
There's no second setup step — Dropbox is usable as soon as it's connected.
Using it
Open the paperclip menu in the chat composer, choose Dropbox, and browse or search for the file you want. Selecting it imports it into the conversation, where COORDINATOR can read it like any other attachment.
How to disconnect
You can disconnect at any time, for any reason, without contacting us.
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- On the Dropbox card, open the menu, select Disconnect, and confirm.
Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens immediately and stops all further access.
Disconnecting doesn't revoke it in Dropbox
We can't revoke the authorization on Dropbox's side for you. After disconnecting, COORDINATOR may still appear in your Dropbox account under Settings → Connected apps. To fully revoke access, remove it there as well. We recommend doing both.
Files you already imported into COORDINATOR stay in COORDINATOR — disconnecting doesn't remove them, and nothing in your Dropbox is touched. To have imported content deleted on our side, email [email protected] from your account email address and ask us to delete it. See Privacy Policy for the retention and deletion terms.
Common issues
A file isn't showing in the browser
Search by name rather than browsing — large accounts are easier to navigate that way. If it still doesn't appear, confirm you connected the right Dropbox account; the linked account shows on the integration card.
"Access expired — reconnect to keep it working"
Dropbox is no longer accepting our access, usually because it was removed from your Dropbox connected apps or your password changed. Disconnect and connect again.
A file imported but COORDINATOR can't read its contents
We import the file as an attachment; whether its contents can be read depends on the format. Documents, spreadsheets, and text-based files work well. Proprietary or unusual formats may import as a file without readable text — converting to PDF or a common format first usually solves it.
Changes I made in Dropbox aren't reflected
An import is a snapshot taken at the moment you picked the file, not a live link. Edit the file in Dropbox and it doesn't change in COORDINATOR. Import it again to get the current version.
Contact support
Email [email protected] from the address on your COORDINATOR account, and include what you expected, what happened, and the name and format of the file involved.
Never send us your Dropbox password — we will never ask for it.
