What COORDINATOR does on its own vs. what needs your approval

Last updated: October 7, 2026

The short version

COORDINATOR recommends and drafts. You decide and approve.

COORDINATOR reads, researches, plans, and writes drafts on its own. Before it does anything that changes something outside COORDINATOR, such as sending an email, posting a message, or changing a connected account, it shows you a draft and waits. If you don't approve, it doesn't happen.

What COORDINATOR does on its own

COORDINATOR does the following without asking first:

  • Reads data from the integrations you've connected, such as your Strava activities, WHOOP recovery, or a Google Drive file you point it at.
  • Researches on the web.
  • Plans, analyzes, and answers your questions.
  • Works through the tasks in a running mission.
  • Checks the watches on your missions. See Meet your strategist.
  • Writes drafts of documents, sheets, and plans for you to review.
  • Sends you a notification inside COORDINATOR.

None of these change anything outside COORDINATOR. Wearable integrations are read-only: COORDINATOR can't write to Strava, Oura, WHOOP, Withings, or Suunto at all.

What needs your approval

COORDINATOR asks before it does any of the following:

  • Sends an email. You see the draft and select Send now.
  • Posts a message, such as on Discord. You select Post now.
  • Changes something in a connected app, such as creating a page or updating a record. You select Approve.
  • Takes an action on a website you've connected. You select Do it, or Approve plan for a multi-step plan.
  • Saves a deliverable to your Library. You select Save to Library or Save all to Library.
  • Reads or changes files on your computer, when you use the Mac app. You choose Yes, just this once, Yes, and don't ask again for this folder, or Don't allow.

To say no, select Dismiss. The draft is marked Dismissed and nothing is sent or changed.

Example

Your WHOOP recovery comes back low the morning of a hard session. COORDINATOR drafts a revision to your training plan that swaps intervals for an easy run, and drafts a message to your coach explaining why. It doesn't change the plan or send the message. You see both drafts, edit them if you want, and decide.

Approvals inside missions

When a mission needs your approval, its status changes to Needs you and the drafts appear in the mission's Activity timeline. Approve or dismiss each one, or select Approve all to approve every waiting draft at once. The mission continues after you decide.

Letting COORDINATOR act without asking

Approving every change in an app you trust can get repetitive. For each connected app, you can choose to let COORDINATOR make changes without asking.

When you connect an app that COORDINATOR can make changes in, it asks whether to let COORDINATOR make changes there. Choose Ask each time or Always allow. If you close the question without answering, COORDINATOR keeps asking each time. To change your answer later, go to Settings → Integrations, open the menu on the connection's row, select View tools, and turn Ask before making changes on or off. For a connected site, the switch appears on the site's row after you turn on Allow actions.

Even with Always allow turned on, COORDINATOR still asks before it does any of the following:

  • Deletes, overwrites, cancels, refunds, or otherwise changes something in a way that can't easily be undone.
  • Messages someone you didn't ask it to contact.
  • Spends money or paid credits when you didn't ask it to.

COORDINATOR also skips an action if it already did the same thing in the last 24 hours, so a repeated trigger can't send the same message twice.

What COORDINATOR never does

  • Changes your connected account settings, passwords, or permissions.
  • Writes to read-only integrations such as Strava, Oura, WHOOP, Withings, or Suunto.
  • Edits or deletes your training history or health records anywhere.
  • Buys, pays, or enters payment details on a website you've connected, even if you approve.

Apps you connect, such as PayPal or Zapier, can include tools that move money. Those tools follow the same approval rules as any other change.
