What is a mission?

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Missions and chat questions

You can ask COORDINATOR a question in chat and get an answer, like "how much did I run this week?" That's a one-off: you ask, it answers, done.

A mission is different. It's a structured piece of work that COORDINATOR carries out for you over minutes, days, or weeks. Every mission has three parts:

  • A goal: what you want, in your words.
  • An end goal: what "done" looks like, so COORDINATOR knows when to stop.
  • Tasks: the steps COORDINATOR breaks the work into and works through.

While a mission runs, COORDINATOR reads your connected data, researches, writes, and checks back with you when it needs a decision.

Missions produce real deliverables

A mission ends with something you keep, not a chat reply that scrolls away. Deliverables are editable sheets and docs, plus other formats such as decks, charts, and boards.

Deliverables start as drafts. When you're happy with them, select Save all to Library. They're saved to your Library. To edit a saved doc or sheet, select it in your Library to open it in the editor. You can also open the item's menu, select Details, and then select Edit.

Some missions repeat, such as a weekly plan. A repeating mission makes a new, dated deliverable on each run. The mission shows when the next run is, and earlier runs stay listed under Earlier.

Examples

A coach planning the team's week

"I want to start a new mission that plans next week's practices for my U16 squad. We play Saturday, two players are coming back from ankle injuries, and we have the field Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday."

COORDINATOR produces a practice-by-practice sheet with session goals, drills, and modified loads for the returning players. If you make it a weekly mission, you get a fresh plan each week that accounts for how the previous week went.

An athlete preparing for a race

"I want to start a new mission that builds my marathon training block for the Chicago Marathon. I want to break 3:30."

With Strava, WHOOP, or Oura connected, COORDINATOR builds the block from your actual training history and recovery. The plan adapts to both your data, such as training load and sleep, and how you report feeling, such as a niggle, an illness, or a rough week. You get a week-by-week sheet and a doc explaining the reasoning.

A fantasy player setting lineups

"I want to start a new mission that sets my fantasy football lineup each week and flags waiver pickups before Wednesday."

COORDINATOR researches matchups and injury news, then gives you a recommended lineup and a short list of pickups each week. You make the final call and set the lineup yourself.

Start a mission

  1. In the sidebar, select the + button next to Missions, or go to the Missions page and select New mission.
  2. Finish the sentence "I want to start a new mission that" with what you want.
  3. Read COORDINATOR's proposal and answer any questions it asks.
  4. Reply yes, go, or ready to start it.

Track your missions

The Missions page lists every mission. Filter it by All, Running, Needs you, or Done, or search by name. The sidebar shows your recent missions too.

Open a mission to see:

  • Activity: a timeline of everything COORDINATOR did and why.
  • Deliverable: what the mission is producing.
  • Tasks: the steps and where each one stands.
  • Watching: what COORDINATOR keeps an eye on for this mission. See Meet your strategist.

Control a mission

On a mission's page:

  • Select Pause to stop work, and Resume to continue.
  • Open the mission options menu and select Notify me to choose Off, Important only, or Everything.
  • Open the mission options menu and select End mission to stop it for good, or Delete to remove it.

Limits

There's no limit on how many missions you run, on any plan. Missions use your monthly AI allowance as they work. When the allowance runs out, running missions pause until it refills. See Plans explained.
